Ford Certified auto tech performing repairs on a Ford vehicle's emissions system

Combustion produces numerous dangerous, toxic chemicals, and the emissions system converts them into less harmful chemicals and water. System components will wear out or become damaged as time passes, leading to problems. As your Ford dealership, we’d like you to know a few signs that you need to visit us for an emissions system repair.

3 Signs You Need an Emissions System Repair at Your Ford Dealership

Blocked Catalytic Converter

The catalytic converter is connected to the exhaust system and receives the gases dumped out of the engine cylinders after combustion. The converter uses immense pressure, intense heat, and chemical reactions to change them before expulsion through the exhaust pipe. Conversion produces carbon as a byproduct, and this substance can build up and block the converter.

If the converter is blocked, engine gases are forced back into the engine. These gases increase the pressure inside the engine, potentially causing it to shut down. The check engine light will illuminate to signal that something is wrong. Our technicians will clear any blockages, and the converter will work effectively again.

Passenger side view of a grey 2025 Ford Mustang GTD muscle car on a sunny day

Prepare yourself for the most powerful production Mustang ever made. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is the ultimate muscle car. Its design is inspired by the Mustang GT3 track-only racecar, with a wide body and sculpted, aggressive lines.

See How the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Redefines Track-Ready Performance

Power and Performance

The Mustang GTD is equipped with a supercharged V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500. It delivers 815 horsepower and boasts a top track speed of 202 miles per hour. The GTD was the first American car to complete the legendary 12.9-mile Nürburgring race in less than 7 minutes. The powertrain includes rear-wheel drive with titanium paddle shifters and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The GTD features standard forged carbon ceramic Brembo brakes and brake-cooling fender vents. The state-of-the-art suspension comes with adaptive dampers and an available Track Mode that lowers your ride for racing. Aerodynamic features include standard carbon fiber body panels and rear wing along with forged aluminum wheels. You can add titanium exhaust, forged magnesium wheels, and an underbody tray. The GTD is designed for a precise 50/50 weight balance. It’s the only Mustang with a performance-enhancing dry oil sump system.

Tech-Forward Cabin

The digital cockpit design pairs a 13.2-inch touchscreen with a 12.4-inch driver information screen. The infotainment software features gaming-style graphics by Unreal and supports Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can also enjoy customizable ambient lighting, leather upholstery, and Miko suede accents. The GTD seats two passengers in comfortable bolstered Recaro bucket seats and includes rear storage space.

Standard driver assistance tech in the GTD includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. You can add active pothole mitigation, which uses a camera to automatically adjust the car’s suspension for the smoothest possible ride.

Design and Options

The standard Mustang GTD comes in Lightning Blue, Shadow Black, Race Red, Frozen White, and Polymimetic Gray exterior finishes. You can also order this model with custom color-matched paint. The many titanium components of the vehicle are recycled from decommissioned Lockheed Martin F-22 jet parts.

The new Carbon Fiber series of the Mustang GTD is offered with exclusive Chroma Flame paint. It also has Magnetite wheels, an unpainted hood and roof, and black, red, or blue brake calipers. This edition incorporates the Performance Pack, which adds a drag reduction system, underbody flaps, and a large front fascia splitter.

The Mustang received a Car and Driver Editor’s Choice Award for 2025. It’s available in a Spirit of America special edition, which sports a patriotic white body with red and blue racing stripes inspired by 1960 Mustang race victories. Visit Ewald’s Hartford Ford in Hartford, WI to test drive the thrilling limited edition GTD model today.
