Trim Levels (Exterior)
Car buyers can discover the Mustang Mach-E in four trim levels for 2022: Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. The base Select trim level rides on 18-inch wheels, while the Premium trim level adds 19-inch wheels and a hands-free liftgate. The California Route 1 trim level includes a cargo cover, panoramic fixed-glass roof, power-folding and heated side mirrors, and 18-inch black-painted wheels with black exterior trim and aero covers.

Engine (Power)
The 2022 Mustang Mach-E is available with several different powertrain options. The Select trim level comes with a 198 kW AC synchronous electric rear motor and a 68 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. If you choose to enhance the Select trim level with all-wheel drive, you also receive a 198 kW rear and 50 kW AC synchronous electric front motor. The total horsepower for this powertrain is 266.
The Premium trim level offers a 216 kW AC synchronous electric motor that pairs with a 86 kWh lithium-ion battery pack if you choose the standard range option or an 88 kWh battery pack if you choose the extended range option. You can also add all-wheel drive and receive a 50 kW AC synchronous electric motor. The Premium trim level produces 266 horsepower with standard range, 290 horsepower with rear-wheel drive and extended range, and 346 horsepower with all-wheel drive and extended range.
The California Route 1 trim level features a 216 kW AC synchronous electric rear motor and 88 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that produces 290 horsepower. In comparison, the GT trim level features a 216 kW AC synchronous electric rear motor and 88 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that generates 480 horsepower.
Performance
Rear-wheel drive is the standard setup for the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, but all-wheel drive is available with all trim levels and standard with the GT trim level.
Interior
This two-row SUV can seat up to five. Passengers in the front row get 38.9 to 40.4 inches of headroom and 43.3 inches of legroom, while backseat riders get 38.2 to 39.3 inches of headroom and 38.1 inches of legroom. In addition, the SUV provides 29.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats, or 59.7 cubic feet of space with these seats folded down.
Safety Features
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2022 Mustang Mach-E the highest score ("Good") in all six crash tests. This SUV additionally comes with attractive driver-assist safety technologies like a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness monitoring, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard, which uses sensors and an alert system to reduce the risk of a collision when switching lanes. Standard forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection uses a similar system to prevent frontal accidents.
