The XLT's exterior highlights include a chrome-finished grille and body-colored accents that give it a sleek silhouette. The ST-Line is a new addition to the Explorer lineup and features a black-painted grille flanked by LED headlights. You'll also notice multispoke wheels with a distinctive machined-face finish.
With the Limited, you'll enjoy roof rails, perimeter lights, and a power liftgate. The Timberline adds attractive graphics that go great with its blacked-out fixtures, while the ST gets body-colored accents. The King Ranch rides on multispoke wheels featuring trim-exclusive wheel caps. Ford gives the top trim — the Platinum — metal-look accents with an elegant polished finish.
Engine (Power)
Good looks aren't the only thing the Explorer has going for it. Pop open the hood, and you'll find a 300-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that also generates 310 pound-feet of torque. Ford also offers a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 that puts out 415 pound-feet of torque. Available in the King Ranch and standard in the ST, the V-6 gives the Explorer more than 5,000 pounds in towing capacity.
